FOREST CASEY worked for four years as a photojournalist in Detroit before heading towards the warm light of Los Angeles. The city’s premiere magazine, Los Angeles, hired him in 2008 as a staff photographer. He has photographed celebrities and comedians, rock stars and sports heroes and five US Presidents. He has photographed major events on deadline -- NBA and NHL playoff games, International Auto Shows in Detroit and LA, and the E3 Video Game convention. He is most interested in environmental portraiture, in crafting an in-frame diorama that changes the subject and the shot into something extraordinary. His work has appeared in URB Magazine, Pitchfork.com, on book covers for Crown Publishing, and in newspaper syndication around the world.
His goal is to capture Los Angeles itself: From the mountains to the parties, Bel-Air to Boyle Heights and the four million people in-between.
